Folk Art - Nova Scotia
My name is Tyler. In 1996 I found myself on the unemployment lines, so I started a business, figuring the best way to stay employed was to hire myself.
During the first few years of my business it wasn't that busy. So I found myself with some time to explore other things. I was fortunate to spend some of that time walking the beautiful beaches of Nova Scotia. While there, I picked up drift wood, old fishing gear and the like. I took these found treasures home and for fun painted them ... Who knew people would like them? |

Nova Scotia Folk Art
I've struggled with what style to call the art I do. So I left it up to the people who have been taking them home. Most people were calling it Folk Art - and I was cool with that.
Then, a buyer who's family owns a bunch of Maude Lewis originals - said it was Folk Art like hers ... so the struggle was over. I'm a Folk Artist. I love Folk Art. And I paint a Folk Art in Nova Scotia. |
